This Privacy Policy explains how BTBerryWifi collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our application. At Blue Pie Apps LLC, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how your data is handled.

Information Collection and Use

Bluetooth and Location Permissions

Our app requires Bluetooth permissions to establish a direct connection between your device and a Raspberry Pi. On older versions of Android (prior to Android 12), the system requires location permissions to enable Bluetooth scanning functionality. Important points about these permissions:

• Bluetooth permissions are used solely to establish a connection with your Raspberry Pi device
• Location permissions (when required on older Android versions) are used only to enable Bluetooth scanning functionality
• We do not collect, store, or track your actual location data
• These permissions are only used to transmit WiFi network names (SSIDs) and passwords that you enter on your device to the Raspberry Pi
• These credentials are entered by you and transmitted directly to your Raspberry Pi device
• This data is not stored on our servers and is not shared with any third parties

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect or request:

• Personal identification information
• Device identification information
• Browsing history or usage patterns
• Location data
• Contact information

License Management

For free tier users only, we collect and store:

• A Raspberry Pi identification string
• The name (only) of the first WiFi network (SSID) you create on your Raspberry Pi (no password is recorded).

This minimal information is uploaded to Blue Pie Apps LLC servers solely for license management purposes. This data is automatically deleted from our systems when you upgrade to a paid plan through in-app purchase.

Data Storage and Security

The information we collect for license management is stored securely on our servers with appropriate safeguards to prevent unauthorized access. We retain this data only for as long as necessary to provide our services or as required by law.

Logging and Debugging

For the purpose of improving app performance and troubleshooting technical issues, we may record:

• App crash information
• Performance metrics
• General usage statistics (non-personally identifiable)
• Names of WiFi networks (SSIDs) without passwords, internal network addresses, signal strength etc. to help troubleshoot transmission issues

These logs are stored locally on your device only and are not automatically transmitted to us. You may choose to share these logs with the developer for troubleshooting purposes, but the developer has no way of retrieving these logs unless you explicitly share them. Logs are used solely for debugging and improving our application.

Third-Party Services

Our app does not share your information with third-party services or advertisers. The only external communications occur:

1. Between your device and your Raspberry Pi via Bluetooth
2. Between our app and Blue Pie Apps LLC servers for license management (free tier only)
3. Google Play Store in-app purchase related process - managed exclusively by Google and not available to the app or the developer.

Your Choices

You can deny Bluetooth permissions (or Location if Android id older than 12.0), but this will limit core functionality since the app requires Bluetooth to communicate with your Raspberry Pi.

If you upgrade to a paid plan, we automatically delete the simple license management data that was collected during free tier usage.

Children's Privacy

There is no age limit for using this app. Our app does not collect any data about the person who downloads or uses the app, including age or any other personal information. Since we do not collect personal information from any users, including children, no special provisions for children's data are required.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
